Tina Heil DMD

Born in Decatur, Dr. Tina Heil is a Georgia native. Before opening Suwanee Family Dentistry, she received her Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with Highest Honor from the Georgia Institute of Technology. She went on to obtain her Doctor of Dental Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry. Since dental research is constantly evolving, Dr. Heil averages more than five times the minimum number of Continuing Education Courses each year. She is Invisalign® certified, ClearCorrect® certified, a certified Lumineers provider, and an Arestin Certified Expert. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, Hinman Dental Society, Gwinnett Dental Society, and is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Heil is also has an appointment as a clinical instructor at the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry.
Dr. Heil became a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) in July 2008. The FAGD is awarded to dentists who have been members of the Academy of General Dentistry for at least five consecutive years, have earned a minimum of 500 approved continuing dental education credits, and have passed a comprehensive written examination. In 2008, Dr. Heil began a 5 year program that will lead to her being awarded Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2013. The Mastership program requires peer-reviewed case presentations in all areas of dentistry and is the first step towards becoming board certified.

In her spare time, she enjoys aviation, hiking, biking, reading, and spending time with her family and pets. She has a Commercial Pilot Certificate, Flight Instructor Certificate, and has been a part-time flight instructor for the Yellow Jacket Flying Club, Inc. since 1996. She obtained her NAFI Master Flight Instructor Designation in 2003. She is a member of the local Kiwanis club and volunteers as a dentist at the Good Samaritan Health Center in Atlanta. Dr. Heil is also a member of the Leadership Gwinnett Class of 2007-08, and is the Co-Chair of the Brighter Smiles for Brighter Futures Campaign to raise money to support the fight against breast cancer.
